Whitefriars Road once had a pub at either end, The Whitefriars and The Granville, both long gone now. The Angel in Plynlimmon Road closed, while just off the hill The Manor, Lord Warden and Shah have all gone.
Last to close was the popular Plough on Priory Road. Local people are hoping it will re-open at some point but a question mark hangs over its future.
