Before the switch on he led a parade along the high street which saw local children and musicians taking part.
Children were able to meet Santa in his grotto in Battle Memorial Hall where a Christmas market was taking place. Battle has its late night Christmas shopping on Thursday December 9, from 6pm. There will be entertainment, choirs and bands and Santa will be back in town at the Almonry. Parking in the town’s car parks will be free for the event.
