Sky watchers were treated to a partial solar eclipse of more than 90% at about 7:10pm on Wednesday (August 12).
It was the most significant solar eclipse since some areas of the UK experienced total eclipse 27 years ago, and it won’t be observed in this country on a similar scale until 2081.
We were able to capture the crowds enjoying the event at Beachy Head, however technology didn’t permit any close-ups of the eclipse.
But now TK Photography has sent this paper video and pictures capturing the rare phenomenon and the vast crowds, describing the event as the “craziest evening” they’d ever experienced at the famous East Sussex spot.
