Worthing Hockey Club celebrates milestone total raised for charity over 20 years

Worthing Hockey Club has celebrated a successful charity golf day, taking its total raised for hospice care to just under £29,300.

Fundraising for Chestnut Tree House children's hospice started in 2007 in memory of Megan Duncan and the club has since added an annual charity golf day for St Barnabas House hospice, honouring top scorer Andie Chambers.

Teams started Andie’s Charity Golf Day 2026 on Saturday, June 27, with breakfast before heading out for 18 holes of golf. The afternoon continued with drinks, a barbecue, raffle and prize giving.

Katie Neil-Smith said: “Wow! After the success of this year's charity golf day in memory of Andie Chambers, we've now raised a total of £29,290.51 for Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas House.

“We started our fundraising mission back in 2007 in memory of Megan Duncan to raise vital funds for Chestnut Tree House and have added an annual Andie’s Golf Day to continue our fundraising efforts.

“We couldn't have done it without our amazing members and the incredible support of our community. Every contribution has helped us reach this fantastic milestone.”

Worthing Hockey Club is based at The Angmering School. Andie was the ladies' first team top scorer for many years in succession.
