Worthing Library revamp: New 3D images offer glimpse of how space will look

New 3D images produced by supplier FG Library show how the building has been redesigned with a range of new modern fixtures and fittings to bring it up to date.

The Worthing Library Hub will see a number of West Sussex County Council services brought together under one roof.

These include its Children and Family services; Find it Out and Youth Emotional Support services; and its Registration Service.

New facilities in the space will include flexible meeting rooms, a new private meeting pod, a Quiet Zone, study bar and personal study desks.

Toilets will be available on all floors – including an inclusive Changing Places toilet on the ground floor – and there will also be a range of seating options across the building.

The library will host a large variety of brand-new books for everyone to enjoy.

Duncan Crow, Cabinet Member for Fire and Rescue and Communities, said: “The building works at Worthing Library have come along in leaps and bounds since I visited last September, including, most recently, new glazing in the ground floor windows, allowing us to see in and out of the library for the first time ever.

“This will make such a massive difference to the space, allowing more light in and catching the eye of passers-by who may never have visited us before but are enticed to come in.

“The all new Worthing Library Hub will be a fantastic space bringing together some of our key services under one roof for residents, whether they are seeing their midwife, scheduled to attend a registrar appointment or getting advice on a good book from a librarian.”

The new library will be opening this summer and a temporary library is still in place at 37 Richmond Road, which is open for click and collect pick-ups at the front door.
