There was a good turnout at the Village Hall Quiz on Saturday October 26 and more than £300 was raised for hall funds.

Don’t forget the Craft Fair on Saturday November 2. Organised by Pett Village Hall Committee, all proceeds will go to Pett Village Hall. It will be an opportunity to buy Christmas presents galore! Stalls include silver, jewellery, soaps, woodmen, cards, art, cushions, button jewellery, hats, turned wood, finger puppets, needlepoint, cakes and produce. Plus much, much more! There will also be tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes. It all happens at Pett Village Hall from 10am to 3pm.

Church Services on Sunday November 3 –Holy Communion, David Wotton, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am; Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

On Monday November 4 in Pett Methodist Chapel, the Village Choir will meet at 7:30pm.

POPP on Tuesday November 5 will feature Caroline Morris, Hat Lady/Milliner. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

On Wednesday November 6 Sally and her team will be ready to welcome you with excellent coffee and a great selection of cakes at the Village Coffee Morning. Everyone is welcome from 10am at Pett Village Hall.

On Thursday November 7 Flicks in the Village will be showing A Song for Marion (PG), a wonderfully, heart-warming story of a loving marriage between grumpy pensioner Arthur (Terence Stamp) and the ever-cheerful Marion (Vanessa Redgrave). While she is happy to sing her heart out with the unconventional local choir, Arthur would prefer to hide himself away and complain about how embarrassing it all is.

But when heartbreak strikes, Arthur is forced to re-think his outlook on life. With the steady perseverance of choir director Elizabeth (Gemma Arterton), Arthur begins to find a way to come out of his shell and in the process forms a touching relationship with Elizabeth as well as a desire to build bridges with his estranged son James (Christopher Eccleston).

A warm antidote to the brash noise and effects of a modern day blockbuster movie, Song For Marion is a terrific drama. It has dark moments, moments of real humour, and a broad streak of humanity running right the way through it.

The film starts at 7:30pm with refreshments served from 7pm. Membership forms are available on the night or you can always pop into the Butchers shop in Pett and grab an application form.
