Good news for the Pett Village Hall fund raising efforts! The Village Hall Quiz held on Saturday March 23 raised £410. Not only that, it was a very good night!

Church Services on Sunday April 7 - Holy Communion – David Wotton, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am. There will be a Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

POPP on Tuesday April 9 will provide its own entertainment. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Also on Tuesday April 9 Pett Gardening Club will hold its meeting at Friary Gardeners – Parchment Trust, which had to be postponed from March due to snow and bitter cold. Members will meet there at 7:30pm and anyone wishing to renew their membership or to join may do so there.

After the success of the coaching mornings last summer, Pett Cricket Club has created a new Juniors section for children aged between 6 and 10. There will be two more coaching mornings on Thursday April 11 and Friday April 12 from 9:30 – 11:30 am for budding cricketers in Pett, Guestling, Icklesham and surrounding areas.

The new junior club will have weekly coaching through to the summer with several fixtures and a tournament already booked. The initial cost of the coaching mornings will be £10 per child and includes refreshments and fruit afterwards. After the resounding success of last year’s Jubilee Lunch, Pett WI has joined forces with the Pett Village Hall Committee and will hold the Pett Coronation Celebration & Regal Feast of Puddings on Sunday June 2 from 1 to 4pm.This community event, which has been given a generous grant of £200 by Pett Parish Council, will celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll’s Coronation in 1953. Everyone is welcome – young and old alike. Just bring something savoury and something to drink and the WI and Pett Village Hall Committee will provide salads, French bread and a Feast of Puddings, not to mention a glass of bubbly, live music and a raffle. Children under 14 go free and adults pay just 53x10p (£5.30). If last year is anything to go by, it should be a great day!
