Church Services on Sunday December 2 – Parish Communion, St Mary and St Peter, Pett at 9:30am; Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Also on Sunday December 2 there will be a Christmas Bazaar at the New Beach Club, Pett Level from 12 noon to 3pm. Among the stalls will be the Stir Crazy Stitchers selling their wares including cushions, place settings, aprons and bags of every description!

POPP on Tuesday December 4 will feature the Land Army Girls with reminiscences of war days. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

The Village Coffee Morning takes place on Wednesday December 5. There will be a raffle for a lovely Christmas hamper and all proceeds will go to the Village Hall. There will be the usual excellent coffee and a great selection of cakes and, for those who dare, morning mulled wine! So why not come along to Pett Village Hall, starting at 10am, where Sally and her team will be ready to welcome you.

On Thursday December 6 Flicks in the Village will be showing All In Good Time (12). East is East writer Ayub Khan-Din returns with another funny, tender-hearted portrait of family strife. Based on his popular play Rafta, Rafta (itself inspired by Bill Naughton’s 1960s classic The Family Way), the film is set in Bolton where Atul and Vina are celebrating their marriage. However, a honeymoon spent with his parents was not part of their plans. Thoughtless patriarch Eeshwar seems determined to emasculate and embarrass his son. As the weeks pass, consummating their union becomes an impossibility that threatens the couple’s entire future. A breezy mixture of heartbreak and hilarity, All in Good Time also offers peerless performances from original stage stars Harish Patel and Meera Syal.

As it is December there will be mulled wine and mince pies for members so come along and get into the festive spirit! The film starts at 7:30pm with refreshments served from 7pm. Membership forms are available on the night or you can always pop into the Butchers shop in Pett and grab an application form.
