Pett & Pett Level

Lily Harris: Sadly Lily passed away recently and following a private service, village residents are invited to Pett Village Hall on Friday November 14 from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Many people will remember Lily, who along with the late Jack Saunders was much involved in the fund-raising for Pett Village Hall.

Church Services: on Sunday November 16 – Holy Communion, Book of Common Prayer led by Kay Burnett, Pett Level at 8am; Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Village Choir: On Monday November 17 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: On Tuesday November 18 POPP will feature Keith Osborne with Music for Health. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Pett WI: On Friday November 21 Pett WI will be holding its Annual General Meeting, which will involve the election of the Committee and a new President. Although it may sound a little dull, it is the opportunity for members to say what they would like to see in the coming year. Already planned for next year are talks on Hearing Dogs, Dementia Friends, the German Resistance and Pett Level as well as a tea tasting. Members will also be celebrating the centenary of the WI with a special tea party in June as well as looking forward to Pett WI’s own centenary in 2017, so do come along and see what it is all about.

Pett Level Naturalist Society: At the Pett Nats meeting, also on Friday November 21, Colin Page will give a talk entitled ‘Quirks of Nature’. Visitors and new members are always welcome and the meeting starts at Pett Village Hall at 7:30pm.

Craft Fair: There are still tables available for the Craft Fair that is being held in Pett Village Hall on Saturday November 22 from 10am to 3pm. All crafters are welcome so please contact Jeannette 01424 814717. For those in a mood to buy, there will be silver, jewellery, soaps, woodmen, cards, art, cushions and button jewellery as well as hats, turned wood, finger puppets and cakes and produce. You can make a start on your Christmas shopping and even have a bite of lunch! Tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes will also be available.
