Dale also had a Highly Commended image in the Habitat Category called Dive Dive Dive, depicting a frog leaping into the water.

Now in their fourth year, the British Wildlife Photography Awards were established by Maggie Gowan to recognise the talents of wildlife photographers working in Britain, while at the same time highlighting the great wealth and diversity of Britain’s natural history.

The winning images, covering everything from marine life and animal behaviour to creepy crawlies and urban wildlife, feature in a new book, British Wildlife Photography Awards: Collection 3.

Alongside the book, the winning images will be exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London from September 17, before departing on a nationwide tour.
