Picture Gallery: Medieval Midhurst 2015

The event, organised by photographer Michael Chevis, the Midhurst Town Team, Chichester District Council, Raven Tor and the South Downs National Park Authority, attracted visitors from across the district - and even as far as Canada.

Glenn Collis from living history group Raven Tor, said visitors had fully immersed themselves in the medieval experience.

“We’ve really been drawing in the crowds, and participation has been fantastic,” said Glenn.

“Saturday was very, very busy and the have-a-go archery was particularly popular.

“Kids really enjoyed trying on the chainmail, helmets, and handling the swords.

“Unfortunately the falconry had to be cancelled on both days because of the weather.

“But people liked talking to us about the history, clothing and weapons.”

The lively programme of events over the weekend included medieval games, combat, archery, morris dancing, crafts and a ghost walk at the Cowdray Ruins.
