Even those who helped out were taken in by the weekend events.
A steward said: “I stewarded at Richard and Merry’s this morning but had a guided tour beforehand.
“What a dedicated couple, so many things about their home I loved and especially their garden. Went straight home and tried to work out how I can channel the water from the outhouse roof straight into our pond and possibly from the bathroom into the garden.
“It will be a start.”
