PICTURES: Moonlight Walk in aid of St Wilfrid's Hospice

More than 750 people stayed up late for the annual Moonlight Walk in aid of St Wilfrid's Hospice.

There was plenty of laughter and smiles as walkers set off on the ten-mile route at midnight, starting from Westgate Leisure Centre, on Friday, June 17.

Before embarking on the walk, participants were asked to place a message, poem or photo on the memories wall and they enjoyed a range of entertainment including face painting and magic before taking part in a gentle warm-up session.

Fund-raiser Jill Dennison said organisers were now waiting for the money to come in.

“So far with walker’s pledging to raise well over £67,000 in sponsorship – together with business sponsorship, registration fees and expected gift aid – our supporters will raise in the region of £90,000,” she said.

The top fund-raising team will receive a spa day at the leisure centre and the top individual fund-raiser will receive a £100 voucher to spend at Amoeba Jewellers in Chichester.

Both prizes were donated.
