Plans for modern homes on sensitive site in East Preston

The site, on a bend in Station Road opposite the junction with Vicarage Lane and Angmering Lane, is former garden land for The Tiled Barn, just to the north, where the owners live.

Globe Estates (Southern) Ltd, of Worthing, has submitted the plans for a three-bedroom house and another with four bedrooms to Arun District Council. They are among the latest list of applications in the Gazette area, which also include:

ARUNDEL: demolish single-storey outbuilding, build rear single-storey extension (lower ground floor level) and make alterations to existing building (this application may affect the character and appearance of the Arundel conservation area), 41 Maltravers Street.

Application for listed building consent to build and reconstruct patio wall and garden areas, 24 Bond Street.

BARNHAM: convert stables into living accommodation, with extension and internal alterations (this application affects the character and appearance of Barnham (Church Lane) conservation area), Church Farm Barns, Hill Lane.

Demolish two-storey detached house and build a pair of semi-detached replacement houses, with flood preventative measures, 4 Lake Lane.

CLIMPING: listed building consent application to demolish detached conservatory and build single-storey rear extension to provide kitchen/breakfast room, internal alterations to provide study, utility room and cloakroom, removal of small porch roof and replace with larger porch on oak frame with low brickwork side walls, Dove Cottage, Climping Street.

Installation of five dormers, ground floor side extension, timber balcony, replace sheds with garage and retain swimming pool and pool house, Poole Place, Grevatts Lane.

EASTERGATE: three floodlights, mounted on side wall, The Barnham Hotel, 28 Barnham Road, Barnham.

EAST PRESTON: extensions and alterations re-submission of EP/93/14/HH), 12 Tamarisk Way.

LITTLEHAMPTON: construction of solar energy park to include the installation of solar panels, security fencing, transformer housing, access and other associated works, land at Brookbarn Farm, Old Mead Road (see story, page 5).

Convert flat 3 into four self-contained flats, 86 South Terrace.

Various new signs, RBS, 52 High Street.

Single-storey rear extension, 26 Southfields Road.

Alterations and additional floors above existing leisure use to provide three new flats, 90/91 South Terrace.

RUSTINGTON: two illuminated fascia signs to front and side elevations with halo LED-illuminated letters, 137 The Street.

Two new doors and seven new windows to ground floor and associated landscaping, including addition of two disabled parking bays and relocation of coach parking, Princess Marina House, 61 Seafield Road.

Convert garage to habitable room, roof light, Juliet balcony to first floor and folding door to ground floor rear elevation (re-submission following R/241/14/HH), Woodlands, Stonefields.

WALBERTON: build two semi-detached houses to replace two flats and associated landscape works (re-submission following WA/14/14/PL), 1/2 Stafford Cottages, Yapton Lane.
