Plastic bags help improve village
CHARGING for plastic bags at Northiam’s Spar shop has cut down on waste while improving the village.
Manager Nigel Fothergill donated the money raised from bags to the Conservation Society for community projects.
So far it has gone to repairing two benches, one across from the Spar and one down Ewhurst Lane.
The Society’s Mervyn Hayes said: “Well done to Nigel and the people of Northiam.”
