Playden

Well, we escaped the blizzards this week, and now lambs are appearing in the near-by fields. Poor little scraps must be very cold in this wind.

The Friends of Playden Church do hope that you have the date for the Car Treasure Hunt in your diaries. 7th April at the church gate at 2.30 pm. Local places of interest, challenging clues, good competition and finishing at the Playden Oasts about 6 pm. Car + 2 costs £5; each additional passenger/clue solver is £3. There is a Family Fun Easter treasure trail beginning today, Friday 29th, and continuing until 14th April at RSPB at Dungeness, 11 am to 3 pm. Join the March Hare on a trip around the nature trail to find the clues to the Easter treasure. Bring your completed answer sheet back to the Visitor Centre to get your yummy Easter prize. No need to book. Activity free, normal reserve entry fees apply.

School finished the term with a service at Playden Church yesterday. The new term begins on Tuesday 16th April, with an Inset day on the Monday for the staff.

There is an inter-schools show jumping event at Duckhurst on 10th April. Classes range from 40cm to 1.10m, so there is something for everyone. Entries close very soon and you need to be registered with NSEA before you can enter. Please contact Helen Ramus on 01797 280 049 - evenings only - for further information.

Playden Parish Council should be meeting on Thursday 4th April at 7.30 pm in the Playden W. I. Hall.

Good Friday - 29th - 12 to 1pm. Stations of the Cross. Iden

Easter Eve - 30th 8pm. Blessing of the First Light. Iden

Easter Day - 31st 11 am. Family Communion. Playden

There is a possible difficulty about being in time for the major Festival of Easter service.- the clocks spring FORWARD one hour on Saturday.
