Playden

Marion Lovell, Abingworth, New England Lane

Yes. Well. When I wrote the column last week, we were able to sit out in the garden in the sunshine. Today said garden has vanished under the snow. There are many snowdrops, crocuses, (croci?) daffodils, hellebores all suffering from this horrid driving blizzard. It was all beginning to seem as if spring was at least thinking about springing. Even the birds at the bottom of Rye Hill went into production on the nest building. They should have waited.

St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday will possibly have small effect in Sussex. His is an interesting story.
