Grey, rather damp, and quite uninspirational is how I would describe today’s weather.

And there’s not much news either !!

If you were quick off the mark on Friday, it might be possible to fit you in for the Murder Mystery evening tomorrow in the W. I. Hall at 7.30 pm.(Saturday) The ticket costs £10, for which you have an evening’s entertainment, a two course hot supper and the chance to use your powers of detection and solve the murder committed before your very eyes. Give me a call on 01797 22 26 15 if you suddenly find that you can come. You would need to bring your own chosen drink and glasses.

The November meeting of the W. I. was the Annual Meeting and this was attended by ESFWI County Chairman, Kathryn Hutson in her capacity as W. I. Advisor. Mrs. Joan Taylor was re-elected as President for another year. Various reports were given and Joan thanked the committee for all their hard work. Special thanks were given to our Treasurer, Mrs. Margaret Holbrook for keeping the finances in order, and also for putting on the Curry Evening with the help of her husband, John. This raised much needed funds for the running of the Hall.

This Sunday is colloquially known as ‘Stir up Sunday’ from the words of the Collect. The cooks of each household usually take it as a reminder that cakes and puddings for the Festive Season should already be made and maturing, or, if not made, get on with it!

It is the last Sunday before Advent, the four weeks counting to Christmas.

The service will be at 11 am and will be Parish Communion with Canon David Frost.
