Playden poppies adorn church

The lovely display of poppies in Playden Church last week end - the tribute to the fallen of all wars, was really beautiful and very moving.

Lots of other good things came from it too. T

here were many visitors who had not realised that there WAS a church in there behind the hedge; the profile of Combat Stress and the great work it does was raised; there was much community spirit with the ladies who created the poppies; and also money was raised for the charity and the church.

At the moment £509.60 will go to Combat Stress and £100 to the church spire fund. There may be more yet, as there will be a donation from the church service collection.
