Playden village voice

It has been quite a long while since the fields have had water standing in them. But this past weekend, there was a lot of it about.Which is why The Friends of Playden Church were somewhat anxious about the Car Treasure Hunt.

But talk about a ‘ window of opportunity!’ All day Saturday, it rained. All night, it rained. Early Sunday morning, it rained. But about eleven o’clock on Sunday morning, the clouds blew away, the sun came out and we had a really exciting Hunt. There were a few dark clouds later in the afternoon, but they passed us by. The navy blue of the sky simply highlighted the lovely fresh spring green of the young leaves and grass, and lambs were skipping about in the sunshine.

We had a most enjoyable afternoon out around the Isle of Oxney, and the winners of the Treasure Hunt were Derek and Peter, who have set previous questions. They were presented with a mug each, on which was depicted the ‘ Friends’ logo and a picture of the Isle of Oxney. Well done to them and many thanks to Jeff and Jill for working it all out.

It rained again during Sunday evening !.
