Police appeal after suspected 'conmen' target elderly Seaford woman

Police are appealing for information after an elderly woman from Seaford handed £200 to a group of suspected conmen.

Police say a 94-year-old woman was approached outside her house in Grove Road at around midday on Monday, August 1 by a man offering gardening work.

The woman agreed to a fee of £100 for the work, however the suspect later returned with two other men and demanded a further £100. Police say the victim felt intimidated and handed over the money.

She asked for a receipt, but was instead given a leaflet for All Seasons Tree Care.

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area, or who has been approached by the same suspects, is asked to [email protected] or call 101, quoting serial 356 of 04/08.
