Police appeal after woman trapped in Haywards Heath-bound train toilet

British Transport Police (BTP) detectives are appealing for a man who may have witnessed a disturbing incident in a train toilet between Brighton and London, to come forward.

The appeal comes after a woman was trapped in the toilet by another man, who made indecent remarks and grabbed her arm when she attempted to escape.

The incident happened on Saturday, November 29, aboard the 3.50am Brighton to Victoria train as it travelled towards Haywards Heath.

Detective Constable Vanessa Cottington said: “Another man opened the door during the incident.

“We need him to come forward so we can establish exactly what happened.

“If the man is reading this, I would ask him to come forward by contacting BTP on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference SSUB/B9 of 3/12/2014.” Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
