Police in more drugswoops

Drug supplies around Bognor Regis have been greatly disrupted as the police step up their actions against suspected dealers.

Further warrants to raid the homes of those alleged to be selling illegal substances such as heroin and cocaine have been obtained in the past week.

Three were gained from magistrates last Wednesday and Thursday alone to maintain the pressure on the dealers.

Other warrants, and raids, have also followed a high profile series of raids two weeks ago.

Bognor police station's top officer, Insp John Merrick, said the activity had achieved results. 'We are determined to stem the flow of drugs into Bognor,' he stated. 'Some of the intelligence we are picking up in the past couple of weeks is that we have badly damaged the supply of drugs in the town.'

But there would be no resting place for those who dealt in drugs with their resultant problems of wrecked lives and crime sprees to enable addicts to pay for their habits. Insp Merrick stressed community intelligence was important to help the police to find out about alleged dealers.
