Police investigate Newhaven hit and run

Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported hit and run in Newhaven.

Police say a 39-year-old local woman was using a pelican crossing near the junction with High Street at around 6.50pm on Tuesday May 3 when she was hit by a red Seat.

The driver of the car did not stop and the woman was left with bruises and a cut to the back of her head.

PC Andy Smith said: “This collision happened on a fairly busy stretch of road and I would urge any witnesses who have not yet come forward to get in touch.

“They can email [email protected] call 101 quoting reference 1324 of 03/05.”
