Police probe after fire destroyed travellers site near Horsham

Police are investigating after a blaze destroyed two mobile homes at a traveller site near Horsham in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

Emergency services were called to the blaze on land in Greenfield Farm in Valewood Lane, Barn’s Green, south of Horsham, at 1.22am.

Two mobile homes were alight and fire officers say they were both “100 per cent damaged” by the fire.

Nobody is thought to have been injured.

A spokesperson for the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said fire appliances from Horsham, Billingshurst and Storrington were called to the scene.

Fire investigation officers are currently at the scene this morning to discover what caused the fire and police are investigating.
