Police seize teen's car

A TEENAGER had his car seized by police after being caught speeding the day after receiving an official warning.

People caught driving anti-socially can be issued an immediate "final warning" by officers. If caught a second time, their car can be impounded.

Police community support officer Andy Reed warned an 18-year-old man who was performing handbrake turns in a Renault Clio, in Fletcher's Croft car park, Steyning, at 8pm on Friday, January 5.

At 10.30pm the following day, 26 hours later, police spotted the same man driving at speed and cutting up other motorists in Freemans Road, Portslade, and seized the car.

People who have their cars impounded can have them returned on payment of a fine, although warnings still stand in the event of future incidents.
