Police stop scammers taking £1.9m from residents

Police have stopped scammers taking almost £2m from residents in the Horsham district, the force has said.

Sussex Police has released a series of warnings over the past year about scammers and rouge traders targeting vulnerable people in the area.

Horsham Police said it had managed to stop around £1.99m being taken from residents since the start of the year.

On Twitter officers said: “Good news, since the beginning of 2015 we’ve potentially stopped scammers taking £1.99million from Horsham residents.”
