Eastbourne residents invited to final stage of Local Plan consultation
Eastbourne Borough Council are now on the final stage of Local Plan consultation before its submitted to the government.
Residents, businesses and community organisations are invited to attend two drop-in events that mark the final stage of consultation on the proposed Local Plan for Eastbourne. The sessions will provide an opportunity to view the plans, speak with council officers and ask questions about the consultation process and how representations can be submitted.

The events will take place at Eastbourne Town Hall on: Thursday, October 22, 12pm to 4pm and Tuesday, November 3, 4pm to 8pm
Known as a Regulation 19 consultation, it represents the final stage of public engagement before the Local Plan is submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination by a planning inspector. At this stage, the focus is on whether the plan is legally compliant and meets the tests of soundness set out in national planning policy
The proposed Local Plan sets out how Eastbourne could accommodate new homes, jobs, infrastructure and community facilities while supporting economic growth, environmental sustainability and the needs of local communities until 2042.
Councillor Colin Swansborough, Cabinet Member for Regulatory Services at Eastbourne Borough Council, said: "The Local Plan is one of the most important documents the council produces as it helps shape how Eastbourne develops in the years ahead.
"These events provide an opportunity to find out more about the Local Plan, understand what the Regulation 19 consultation is seeking feedback on, and speak directly with officers about the process.
"I would encourage anyone with an interest in Eastbourne's future to come along, ask questions and make sure they understand how to submit their representations before the consultation closes."
