New wayfinding signs installed across Worthing town centre

A new network of wayfinding monoliths has been fully installed across Worthing town centre – to help residents and visitors explore more of the town.

The signs, which provide maps and directions, have been designed not only to help people navigate the area but also to encourage them to discover new places, attractions and routes.

Worthing Borough Council said it is now ‘easier than ever to explore everything our town has to offer’.

"Whether you're strolling along the seafront or exploring the town centre, they’ll help you find your way while showcasing what makes Worthing special,” the council explained, in a social media post.

"The network divides the town into four distinct areas – East Beach, West End, Town Centre and Civic Quarter – each with its own colour and shape, celebrating the unique character and attractions of that part of the town.

“Building on the original signs installed near Worthing Station, the expanded network has been made possible through support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and developed in collaboration with local creatives, heritage specialists, businesses and community groups.”

The local authority encouraged people to take a fresh look at the town.

It said: "Next time you're out and about, why not take a different route and see what you discover?"

Further information about the wayfinding project is available on the Adur & Worthing Councils website.
