The application (P/24/20/RES) is for the building of 280 homes, a scout hut, 'ambulance community response post facility' and public open spaces.

Earlier this year, concerns were raised by residents after pictures showed Sefter Road in Pagham submerged in water.

A separate planning application was approved in November 2018 and was allocated for development in the district council's local plan.

Residents highlighted the issue with the fields by take pictures of people sailing and swimming in the proposed fields.

The latest plans were submitted on behalf of developers Barton Willmore. A decision is expected at the end of June.
