High Sheriff of West Sussex in Rustington for Annual Civic Thanksgiving Service and Community Awards’ Reception

Rustington Parish Council's annual service was held at St Peter and St Paul Church on Sunday, October 23, and was conducted by the Rev Natalie Loveless with the assistance of the Rev Laura Darrall.
Guests included James Whitmore, High Sheriff of West Sussex, Arun District Council chairman Samantha-Jayne Staniforth and a number of other senior councillors from Angmering, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Rustington and West Sussex County Council.

Hide AdFollowing the service, the Community Awards’ Reception was held at The Woodlands Centre.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the presentation of the Parishioners' Award, which had been awarded to Annet Ziraba at the council's annual meeting in May.
Annet runs Rustington Platinum Social Club and the award was in recognition of her outstanding caring, commitment and dedication to helping to ensure social inclusion for many members of the community.
The club is based at The Samuel Wickens Centre and offers programmes devoted to physical, social and emotional wellbeing.Presentations were also made to various members of the community for their outstanding floral displays in both private front gardens and business premises for the Rustington Gardens Competition 2022.

Hide AdSpecial thanks and appreciation were also conveyed to Ferring Nurseries for its continued outstanding service and dedication provided for the village.
Mrs Alison Cooper, chairman of the parish council, said she was, as always, extremely impressed by the continuing hard work and impressive achievements of the local groups, organisations and individuals for the benefit of the community.
She was particularly delighted that some of these efforts were being recognised by way of the awards presented, at this most enjoyable social event, that is fully established in the council's calendar.
She also thanked everyone for attending and helping to make the event such a success.
