Horsham man trying his chances in Hants by-election

Peace Party member and Horsham man Jim Duggan, who stood as a Horsham Parliamentary candidate several general elections, is one of 14 candidates standing today in the Eastleigh by-election.

The seat was made vacant by former MP Chris Huhne who resigned after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice. Residents of the Hampshire town are going to the polls today and a result is expected early tomorrow (Friday).

They have an eclectic mix of candidates to choose from as well as representatives of the mainstream parties. Mr Duggan receive 253 votes (0.5 per cent of voters) in the 2010 general election in Horsham.

He also stood as an Independent candidate in the 2001 and 2005 elections when 0.8 per cent of voters voted for him.
