A bid to build 21 new homes in Shripney has been submitted.

The planning application, submitted by Castle Property Developments, seeks to demolish the existing dwellings and outhouses at the former nursery known as The Cottage, located off Shripney Road.

Outline planning permission is being sought for 20 houses and flats as well as one replacement building on the land, along with car parking, landscaping and associated infrastructure.

The application is a departure from the development plan.

As well as 15 market homes comprising two, three and four bedrooms, there would also be six flats deemed as affordable homes.

The design and access statement states: “The layout has been inspired by the unique features of the site and in particular, the mature trees. The importance of the two cedars to the south of the existing cottage...provide the main focal point of the layout.”
