Recent polls have shown the remain and leave campaigns neck and neck ten days before the country heads to the polls.
Mr Cameron visited the offices of sister-title the West Sussex County Times in Horsham today (Monday June 13) to explain why voters in Sussex should back the remain campaign.
Speaking to the BBC’s Andrew Marr yesterday, he said: “If we vote to leave the European Union and to leave the single market that will have economic consequences.”
He said there was ‘no saving from leaving the EU’ with less money to spend on public services, and his message was very clear: ‘Don’t risk it’.
But members of the leave side, such as former Mayor of London Boris Johnson, have urged the public to ‘take back control’, particularly on immigration, trade agreements, and law-making.
Chichester’s Andrew Tyrie became the tenth Sussex MP to declare for the remain side today, with five backing leave, and one yet to decide.
