Mims Davies MP has also warned 370 pubs in East Sussex are under threat from Labour’s war on pubs and self-granted powers to ban smoking in pub beer gardens and outside pubs.

Pubs have warned that Labour’s war on pubs could push up the price of a pint by as much as 40p - we must support this important sector.

Mims joined The Maypole in Turners Hill recently as part of the Save our Local Pub campaign:

If you know me, you know I love visiting our local pubs in my constituency of East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages. This is why I was pleased to meet with the British Beer and Pub Association, as well as teams from Budweiser, Greene King, Heineken, and more on the costs and taxed involved in producing beer, including the impact on businesses of major new packaging regulations. My Conservative colleagues and I have been working hard to back our local pubs and support them as much as possible given the new hike in national insurance per worker, hike in business rates, pint prices, landlords forced to police conversations, and pubs becoming no go zones for smokers. #SaveOurLocal
