The application seeks to vary the existing licence to extend the hours, making the new sale of alcohol times from 12pm to 9.30pm Sunday to Thursday and 12pm to 10pm Friday to Saturday, with opening hours being 12pm to 10pm Sunday to Thursday and 12pm to 10.30pm Friday to Saturday.
Representations must reach the licensing unit no later than April 27.
• Notice has been given of work on a purple-leaved plum tree in the Winchester Road Conservation Area of Worthing.
ArbTec Tree Care has made an application on behalf of the owner of 26 Winchester Road to reduce the crown height and radial spread by up to 1.5 metres.
• Listing building consent is sought for works on a 16th century property in Church Street, Shoreham.
An application has been submitted to Adur District Council for works to address moisture retention, improve ventilation and reinstate breathable materials in order to protect the historic fabric of the Grade II building at Old Scantlings.
Works include installation of a French drain in front of the patio doors, removal of a front concrete slab and installation of stone aggregate, installation of mechanical ventilation within bathrooms and the kitchen, removal of an isolated section of suspended timber floor under stairs and replacement with solid floor, removal of plaster in the bedrooms to expose walls, enlargement of a ventilation opening beneath the stairs, removal of cement pointing to the front elevation and repointing in lime mortar, installation of six roof vent tiles, repair and repointing of a chimney stack and repair of a timber upper window sill.
In a supporting statement from Sussex Heritage Damp Restoration, says the property has elevated humidity levels and poor ventilation.
SHDR adds: “These issues are environmental rather than structural, but if left unresolved, may lead to gradual deterioration of historic fabric.”
The company explains buildings of this type rely on breathable materials and natural ventilation to manage moisture. The long-term durability of the structure depends on maintaining this environmental balance.
SHDR said: “The proposed works aim to restore the building’s natural moisture management rather than introduce modern sealing systems.”
