Debbie Kennard, a West Sussex county and Adur district councillor, has been unable to attend meetings of either council since earlier this year.

Pat Arculus, chairman of WSCC, wished her a continuing recovery at Full Council on Friday December 11.

She said: “As you will be aware Debbie Kennard has been in hospital for some time now. I’m delighted to report she is making excellent progress but she will not be able to attend meetings at the council yet.”

County councillors resolved that Ms Kennard’s ill health be approved as a reason for her prolonged absence.

Adur District Council approved a similar motion back in October.

Ms Kennard represents the Buckingham ward at Adur and the Shoreham division at WSCC.
