Travellers at Goring Greensward: new aerial photos show camp near Worthing

Photographer Eddie Mitchell sent the pictures in on Saturday, July 9, a few days after more than 20 caravans and motorhomes pitched up at Goring Greensward.
On Wednesday (July 6), West Sussex County Council said all 24 vehicles had been served with a notice requiring them to vacate the land.

Hide AdThis week a Sussex Police spokesperson said: “We are aware and are responding to reports of an unauthorised encampment at Goring Gap on Marine Drive.


“Our officers, working in liaison with local authorities, have attended and are engaging with the group.”
Gypsies and travellers travel the country as part of a nomadic way of life and have rights under the 1998 Human Rights Act.
Sussex Police have been approached for an update.
