Ponies roam local woods

SIX Exmoor ponies have found a new home grazing on land at Brede High Woods.

The introduction of the ponies has been made possible by funding from Natural England as part of its High Level Stewardship scheme.

Woodland Trust Site Manager Dave Bonsall said: “The ponies grazing will graze the grass and browse shrubs and young trees as well as trampling bracken and bramble. This will help maintain the rich variety of habitat and prevent it from scrubbing over.”
