Pride tickets suspended as Britney fans crash website

Brighton Pride has suspended its second release of Pride Festival tickets after the website crashed this morning (February 1).

Brighton Pride quickly sold out of its first release tickets on January 23, when it was announced pop icon Britney Spears would be headlining the Pride Festival in Preston Park on Saturday, August 4.

A second batch of tickets were released at 8am this morning, but it wasn't long before Pride's website was unavailable.

This morning a statement on Pride’s Twitter account said: “2nd release Pride Festival tickets went on sale at 8am today. Despite running 16 servers and a dedicated database server our website is still struggling to cope. Please bear with us while out tech team try and resolve the issue.”

And an update came from the organisers at 12.27pm this afternoon: "Huge Apologies, Due to an outage Second Release tickets for the Pride Festival on Saturday 4th August have been suspended. Will will put out an update here and on social media when we have more news. Again apologies for inconvenience."

This comes as tickets for the LGBTQ festival were being sold online for up to £450.

Brighton Pride sells early bird tickets for the festival from £12.50, with final release tickets selling for up to £37.50.
