£1bn rubbish treatment plant to be built near Horsham
PLANS for a treatment plant to turn rubbish from across West Sussex into fuel at a site near Horsham have been unveiled.
West Sussex County Council said the plant would be built at an existing landfill site, at Langhurstwood Road, near Warnham, outside Horsham.
The council hopes to sign its biggest ever contract - worth 1bn - with waste management company Biffa early next year to run the plant for 25 years.
