Pub holds alast drag party
Smokers are being invited to enjoy a last drag at a Middleton pub this weekend.
Licensee Darryl Cotting is holding a party with a difference at The Beresford on Saturday night to give the nicotine addicts a last chance to savour their fags indoors. Some of the male regulars will also be marking the historic occasion by dressing up in drag. Darryl has a pair of high heels standing by specially for the night between 8pm and midnight.
He estimated about 70 per cent of customers in his Elmer Road premises smoked. The pub is already non smoking in its restaurant section for many years. He said he expected his trade to dip initially as smokers stayed away.
