Pupils and school rewarded for arty achievements

ARTY pupils from St Margaret's CE Primary School in Angmering have helped the school to gain a silver Artsmark award.

The award, for schools with a high level of provision in the arts, is run by Arts Council England.

In recognition of its work in art, dance, drama and music, the school was on of 200 from across the south east to be presented with the award at a ceremony at the Capital Theatre in Horsham.

The school's head boy and girl Luke Flain and Brooke Newman collected the certificate, which was presented by the poet John Agard.

Alison Mill, art co-ordinator at the school, said: "We are delighted to receive the award and feel it reflects the hard work that both the staff and children put in to ensuring that the arts are an enjoyable, exciting and rewarding part of the curriculum."
