Pupils combine fordazzling festival

Young dancers made their big stage debut in Bognor Regis to acclaim.

The dozens of pupils from Rose Green, The Glade and Nyewood infant schools took part in a festival of fairy tales.

They went on to the stage at Bognor Regis Community College's lower school with the accompanying music and lights in front of an audience of about 200 parents.

The 27-strong class of five and six year olds from Rose Green performed Three Little Pigs. The other schools staged Aladdin and Snow White.

Rose Green teacher Nikki Sargeant said: 'The children were absolutely fantastic. I was so proud of them.

'They were just awestruck when they saw the lighting, heard the music and saw their parents there.

'The parents came into school the next day raving about the childrens' performance.'

The festival was organised through the Bognor schools' sports partnership centred on the community college, which is a specialist sports college.

Partnership co-ordinator Sue Ward said: 'We thought it would be nice for the younger children in the schools to take part in this year's festival because they don't often get the chance to perform.'
