Pupils learn archery skills
Pupils in Years 3 and 4 at Castlewood School in Southwater added archery to their list of sporting skills recently. Archery tutors, Nick Scott and Sam Lyons from Horsham District Sports Development set up targets on the school's field teaching the correct stance, the right finger hold and how to aim the arrow at the target.
Each child’s two highest scores will be entered in to a ‘virtual’ competition against other schools to find ‘Horsham’s champion archer’.
James, aged eight, said, “It was amazing! It was my first time at archery and I was shocked when my arrow hit the bull’s eye. I’ve watched my sister before so it felt brilliant.”
