Puzzle event for Bognor beach

A JIGSAW puzzle event with a difference is coming to Bognor Regis.

On August 16, as part of the Funshine Days being run by Bognor Regis Town Council, a Jig It jigsaw puzzle competition will be run.

This event will involve a number of teams of two trying to complete a Mike Jupp 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle on the beach.

As the tide comes in the water will rise and the challenge is to keep the table and puzzle pieces afloat. Teams to take part are needed and cash prizes will be awarded.

Earlier in the day a children’s sand castle competition will be run and there will be music and entertainment on the bandstand. The council had been in negotiations with the BBC, who wanted to film part of the event live for the One Show.

However, because the council could not guarantee the times they would be able to film because of the sea’s tides, the BBC has informed the council it will not be filming.
