Question time for MP at Upper Beeding school

PUPILS at Upper Beeding Primary School have given Arundel and South Downs MP Nick Herbert a grilling.

Mr Herbert was given a tour of the school by year-five pupils Rebecca Hobson, Connie Lynas and Edward Whitting and year-six house captains Ruby Taylor and Sam Tombs.

Mr Herbert said: "I particularly enjoyed being given a guided tour by some of the year-five and six children at Upper Beeding .

"It was great fun, but it also gave me a pupil's insight into the school.

"They were delightful representatives of their classmates and a great advert for the school and the local community."

Arguments

At the end of the tour, the children could put their questions to Mr Herbert.

Ruby asked whether he got involved with the "arguments" in the House of Commons, while Rebecca wanted to know if he had met former prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

Mr Herbert also met acting head teacher Becky Linford during his visit.

Mrs Linford said: "All the children thoroughly enjoyed meeting Mr Herbert.

Ruby Taylor believed she would like to be an MP, as they got to make lots of important decisions."
