Radio station finds a new home

UCKFIELD'S own radio station has finally found a new home.

After a winter spent searching for a new premises, Uckfield FM will set up studios for its 2007 broadcast at Bird-In-Eye Farm on Framfield Road.

Having previously been on air from the Picture House cinema, the community radio station has had to find alternative accommodation.

Chairman Mike Skinner said: 'We are grateful to Kevin Markwick and his staff at the Picture House for helping us to build our reputation as a local radio station but it is now time to move forward.'

The unit at Bird-In-Eye will need to be refurbished and a new sound-proofed studio built.

An office and a reception will also be established, helped by a grant from Wealden District Council's Community Fund.
