Rags firm hails Arun riches

Autumnal gloom may be on our doorsteps but that has not stopped an Angmering man from displaying the brighter side of the area.

Terry Smith, owner of Rag Bags, in Dappers Lane, has teamed up with Arun District Council to showcase the stunning scenery and attractions of “Sussex by the Sea” – the district’s tourism branding.

Terry has customised one of his trailers to give people across the region the chance to glimpse examples of the area’s beautiful beaches and countryside, treasured history and culture, as well as the more quirky aspects of Arun.

Terry, whose family-run firm supplies cleaning rags and wipes for all types of industry across the region, explained his zeal for the district.

He said: “I’m very passionate about the place I live in, and I thought it would be nice for other people to see what it has to offer. I go to lots of different areas and admire things like the countryside, but it’s always nice to come back home.”

Arun’s cabinet member responsible for tourism, councillor Paul Dendle, said: “I’m so pleased that we have been able to work with Terry at Rag Bags to showcase our beautiful district to an even wider audience.

“The fact that he’s so passionate about promoting the area in which he lives gives visitors yet more reason to plan a trip to Sussex by the Sea.”
