Raiders cut through wall of shop

In scenes straight out of a Hollywood movie, thieves cut through the wall of a shop.

A 'large sum of cash' was stolen when thieves made off with a safety deposit box from Boots in Vicarage Fields, Hailsham.

Both police and Boots are remaining tight-lipped about what happened and how much was taken.

Police would only say that at least two people were involved and used a ladder to get onto the roof of the building, before cutting their way in.

A statement also said the raiders must have made a 'great deal of noise'.

Neither the police nor Boots would say much money was in the safe but a police statement confirmed it was 'large sum of cash'.
